Members of the RPO and the Music Director of the Orchestra and the Voices of the POPS are available to perform Masterclasses, Sectionals, Clinics, Lectures, and demonstrations for young people. These services are offered through a variety of school-visit programs. To arrange for a RPO school-visit program, contact educationdirector@rappahannockpops.org
The “Play with the POPS” program is a unique experience for music students to gain first-hand experience rehearsing and performing with a professional orchestra. Students are invited to perform with the orchestra by their music director, or by audition with the orchestra. They sit within the section next to a professional musician, who mentors and coaches each student. Students participating with the “Play with the POPS” Program must commit to attend all rehearsals and performances for the performing season. Students participating in two or more performances during the season are eligible for the Rappahannock POPS Orchestra Scholarships for Young Artists. If you are interested in auditioning for the “Play with the POPS” Program, contact musicdirector@rappahannockpops.org
