Founded in 1988 by internationally renowned harpist Heidi Lehwalder and other visionary arts lovers of this community, the Fredericksburg Festival of the Arts has evolved from a small, world-class chamber music festival into a premier, year-round presenter of the performing arts in the Rappahannock region. To more accurately reflect this evolution our name was recently changed to the Fredericksburg Festival for the Performing Arts (FFPA) and we added an identifying line that really captures the motivating force of our organization: educating • inspiring • celebrating since 1988.
With Season 2011-2012, FFPA celebrated its 25th Anniversary in high style and continues to delight audiences with an ambitious calendar of musical and theatrical performances of the highest artistic integrity.
The Design Room Inc. (TDR) is proud to be a sponsor of the Rappahannock POPS Orchestra. TDR has been involved with the RPO since 2007 when they worked with the orchestra to design their logo. Since then, they have been the designers of each concert’s program.
TDR provides the full range of information and communication design solutions from graphic/web design, logo packages, product/event branding, and print procurement to photography and custom artwork.
Maura, as the Creative Director of TDR, hopes you find each concert program to be “beautifully consistent and consistently beautiful.” As an artist, her photographs have been exhibited at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts and the Uniquely Fredericksburg exhibits at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library.
Owners Allen and Maura Harrison have long been supporters of the arts and have a special fondness for orchestras having met each other when they were members of the Fort Hunt High School band under the direction of George Etheridge in Alexandria, VA. Allen played the tuba; Maura the French horn. They live in Spotsylvania County with their 5 children—four of them old enough to be practicing the piano!
